Belgian Warmblood Canter is a superb stallion and competition horse. Currently competing at 1.20m, he is consistent in his performances and exhibits an extremely elastic jump with plenty of scope. His well-bred talent is complimented by his gentle and willing temperament.
Canter’s sire Cumano is a well-known international jumping star. His harmonious build wields the combination of a light-footed gallop and an incredibly powerful jump to produce almost perfect technique. Cumano is by Cassini I by the sire Capitol I, who was ranked in the top ten of the world’s best sires of show jumpers in 2004. Every year at the Holstein Verband’s stallion presentation, Capitol I guaranteed this prestigious event great numbers of spectators waiting in anticipation for his free jumping display. Every year the poles were as high as the jump allowed and Capitol I easily jumped over more than 2 metres.
Cumano also carries all the brilliant Thoroughbred blood from the Holstein greats: two crosses of Marlon, two of Rantzau, one of Ladykiller, three of Cottage Son, one of Manometer and one of Anbick. At his mother’s side, Cumano goes back to the best Holstein mare-products, via Landgraf I and Caletto II and his dam-line matches excellently with Capitol I blood.
Canter is out of a Laudanum mare. Laudanum is a thoroughbred stallion that has sired many international show jumping performers and has himself won Grand Prix, Puissance and Nations Cups. He was described at the time as both courageous and careful.
It is no surprise that with such a masterpiece of bloodlines, Canter continues to impress the crowds with a phenomenal jump.
